Goodness, sometimes it still draws!

Indeedy, I have posted a brand new christmassy piece of Harry Potter fanart over on my DA account.

Gee, that was fun... must do it more often. I tend to forget how much I love illustrating inbetween all the Graphic Designing.

Mr. Peepers' Day Out!

I've changed his name from Oskar to "Mr. Peepers", because Peepers is cuter and he likes to sing "Peeper Peeper Peeper PEEP" back to me on occasion.

He's also become a bit bolder.....

Mr. Peepers checks out the biznez

Mr. Peepers heads Top-side!

What is up here!?

I see something delicious!

OMNOMNOM Eyebrow preening!!!

(PS pay no attention to the box of boxes behind me...it's recycling day!)

As you can see, the birdie is progressing slowly...he now obliges to climb onto my shoulder and fly to me, but he will NOT under any circumstances "step up" on to a finger...fingers are for nipping unless they have millet in them apparently...

I'm not quite sure how to train him to step up now, since I think my previous attempts have lead to his current finger rage....Any tips out there for finger taming an aggressive lil jerk? ;)

Also I was recently informed by a local bird-er that parrotlets are the pit bulls of the parrot world and are naturally very possessive and aggressive. OH JOY! Why no one mentioned this to us before I do not know...but I see how it can be true, because Peepers has apparently decided that he hates my dog Georgia and dive bombs her every chance he gets. He's got a serious pair of green balls on him. I just hope it does not end tragically...:(

In other news...the Christmas spirit is creeping in!! I crave Christmas cookies and trees and carols! I wish I had time to put up our tree...but with my freelance and shopping and visitors, and the fact that we'll be leaving in less then a week makes it seem a bit moot. I have settled for tuning my cable to the "sounds of the seasons" channel and eating a candy cane. But all of this holiday joy is not conducive to working..LOL..

HO HO HO EVERYBODY!

FANART: CARESS IN THE RAIN

Ok, I’m sure you have never read me being like this.
Perhaps because I’d never felt like this.
So please, forgive me for overreact over this piece, as I’m trying to show you how happy I am with it, not so much with its result but, most of all, because I finally did it.

I remember last year, I had a talk with Sara (aka [info]evanesco75) when she was finishing her fanfic Never Enough, as we talked about ideas for a new story.
Then I showed her a picture of the great artist Luis Royo as I said her that maybe someday I would make a Ron and Hermione version of it and that the original one could give her some inspiration for a new work.
Well, I don’t know how much of this picture will appear on her amazing new work Of Blood and Magic, but you can have an idea how long it took for me to find the courage to do this art.

I have already showed you many times how my fixation in this couple makes me to see them everywhere and this is not the first time I make a Ron and Hermione version of some famous picture, but this one has a special meaning for me, not only because is over one of my favorite illustrations of all times but also because I only felt security on my skills with the pencils for doing it in this moment.
Although the image looks simple it took me about one month to make it, more hours in one work than any other fanart I have done till now, I think, so many details it has for its coloring part.

I finished it last October and my happiness afterwards, to have finally reach a dream, was so big that I decided to only post it by the end of the year as a reminder for me of this achieve and because I want to give it as a gift to all my friends here, HP lovers, specially those who like me, love an AU fanfic involving these two: it may have not a story for it written yet, but I think the picture tells it all!;)

I never said I'd lie and wait forever
If I died, we'd be together now
I can't always just forget her
But she could try

At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are never coming home
Never coming home
Could I, should I
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever, ever, ever

Get the feeling that you're never
All alone and I remember now
At the top of my lungs, in my arms she dies
She dies

At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are never coming home
Never coming home
Could I, should I
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I, should I
And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me
For all the ghosts that are never gonna catch me

If I fall
If I fall (down)

totally psycho!

WOW

So, last night I had a weeeird dream that a pipe had burst and was flooding our apartment and we had to put all of our stuff in storage while they fixed it. Then this morning, Matthew and I got up early to go to a doctors appointment, and we stepped out of out front door...into a HUGE puddle of water! There was a literal WATERFALL coming out of the ceiling in the hallway and running down the wall our living room shares with the hall. It was INSANE...apparently there was a BURST PIPE in the floor above us. It's just sheer luck that it didn't run into our apartment, we rescheduled our appointments so we could stay home and check everything over.

Obviously this means I am psychic.

I also dreamt I went to a Waffle House, so I'm looking forward to that coming true too...

In other news, Randy Owens watches me work....

I AM USING MY FROG ICON APPROPRIATELY!

So...I saw Frog... and I'm still making my mind up about it,,, HOWEVER....

Heres to the new generation of Disney Princesses! )

The Princess and the Frog.... OH MY!!!

Oh my God.

People: run, don't walk and go see Princess Frog! Be you illustrator, animator or really any other visual design beastie: You shall cry upon glimpsing the latest Disney feature.

Disney is back, baby, and then some!

I just came back from a midnight showing here in SF, and man, this is sooo worth every single mug of coffee I shall have to ingest in order to stay awake at work tomorrow.

I can't structure my thoughts just yet, so I'll resort to inarticulate rambling:

- The layout and background design. Oh, sweet baby Jesus, th elayout and background design. Every single setting a luminous glory of perfectly chosen colours and exceedingly tasty Composition. I mean, here I was gazing at moldy bayou tree stumps, and going WOW!!!!(!)

-the acting. Thank, this was everything I was hoping for ever since seeing the prologue of enchanted and more. The Mouse had he hanging at every raised eyebrow, every subtle tilt of the head, evey intake of breath.

- Tiana's rich friend (the name escapes me) had me thinking of Diane Pilkington's Galinda. All. The. Time.

-The shdows were deliciously creepy.

- was I the only one who was picking up in jokes left, right and centre? I definately spotted Aladdin's carpet, and I'm pretty sure the dancing scene between "The Prince" and rich girl was set up exactly like the one of Cinderella and the Prince a Generation earlier.

- The Evangelina storyline? I cried.

- the "I'm almost there" stylised animation sequence was be-au-ti-ful.

That's all can come up with now, but I'm sure there's more.

To top things off, my crowd was amazing. The entire theatre was abuzz with excitement. When the big fancy-schmancy 3D Disney Logo of How Far Can We Shove This Down People's Throat? appeared, they were dead silent, only to break out into tumoltous applause at the "Steamboat Willie" Animation Logo. They laughed and sighed a cringed at all the right moments, and applauded after particularly outstanding sequences. They were perfect.

Okay, People: Discuss!

Love that dare not speak it's name...

Is it possible to love an appliance? Because I think I do....

My parents got us a portable dishwasher for Christmas this year, and we ran it for the first time last night. OH MY GOD HOW DID I EVER LIVE WITHOUT IT?! It is AMAZING! I don't think our dishes have ever been cleaner...I want to wash everything I own now... And it was only $100 off of craigslist (best site EVER!) You know your old when a dishwasher and a roomba (which my parents got us last year) are some of the most precious things you own.. ;)

In other news I'm slowly getting excited about Christmas...mainly for the loooong vacation! I've also been dreaming of Christmas cookies...I've been entertaining thoughts of making some to bring to my parent's house for Christmas (in lieu of gifts since my family has agreed to have a low-key Xmas this year). Of course this all assumes that I will find some free time with my freelance...but I thought I'd ask you guys!

What are your FAVORITE Holiday cookies, (or cookies in general)...I have been craving the old fashioned sugar cookies that we used to make when I was little, cutting them with my grandma's cookie cutters and decorating them with colored chocolate chips and colored sugar...OMG NOM NOM NOM
